I could try to find resources pertaining to my arguement, but in reality anything I can find on the internet could be as easily dismissed as your encyclopedic knowledge of the issue
I'm still trying to find an episode of the dyno runs of the big three that they did with no luck

I would actually love to see the dyno runs. But seriously, every old car guy I have ever talked to says that the whold downgrading thing was a myth.
Don't get me wrong, the old muscle is waaay better than the new muscle and they put out way more power (pre-fuel crisis of the 70s and pre-epa ...

I am pulling my hair out trying to search through the episodes of my classic car, I watched it months ago on the speed network while at work. Thing is, I cant even remember if "my classic car" was the show they did it on, but it seems to be sticking in my mind.

I was at mopac the other day buying a model of the 427SOHC and the guy told me theres a guy in edmonton who has spent ten grand and engine trying to reproduce the 427 with an custom aluminum block and heads and shit and both hes done havent lasted more than a day before blowing up

actually with the weight and size of most cars of that era power of such a high level was needed if one wanted an exciting driving experience

I mean sure, not everyone can just appreciate automotives in general, but you are making shit up now
sure the corvette has transverse leaf springs, but fullsize passenger cars and trucks hardly fit into the muscle car category
