What do you like to do for a first date?
Personally I don't like to invest a lot of time and money. I like to meet up for coffee or tea and meet the person. If we are not hitting it off after an hour or so, I just excuse myself politely. If we do have a good connection I will take them to something more exciting and fun.

I meant for myself. I am not going to pay on the first date, it's more of an introduction to see if I want to spend additional time.

I take them paintballing and pay their team to turn on them all at once halfway through. If they can handle the pain, I ask them to go out for a second date.
